Meet She’s Nuts!
Elle Bourcier had a dream. One morning she literally shot up in bed and said out loud “cashew butter!” It wasn’t as if she was working with nuts or even close to it. At the time, she was running a chiropractic office. However, as Elle has now recognized, when you have such clear instructions, you follow them.
By trial and error, Elle put together a recipe. She made so much that she gave the chiropractic clients the extra and they loved it. Elle loved making the cashew butter and gave it as gifts to her friends. And when some ended up with the owner of a local restaurant, they offered to put it on the menu.
In 2017 after Elle posted on Facebook “I’m thinking of making and selling my cashew butter, would you want it and buy it?” She had 30 orders within two hours. Due to some health issues, Elle had to take a 3 year hiatus and was ready to restart in 2020 when COVID hit.
Elle sells direct-to-order online. Her nut butters are also available at Specialty Produce. When she receives an order, it is made fresh with raw organic nuts that she sprouts herself (which takes about 24-48 hours), Chosen Food avocado oil, and Mikolich honey. Elle only makes butters that she believes in with nuts that she loves. She won’t sell anything she can’t tell you is good.
The name She’s Nuts comes from Elle’s name. Elle is the French word for “she,” so Elle’s Nuts = She’s Nuts. It just happens to be a wonderful food pun as well! Her goal is to raise money so that she can trademark this unique business name.
One thing that Elle has learned is that “in the absence of value, cost is a consideration.” When you make something of value, people will see it and pay for it. Elle is her business, and she gives her heart and soul to every nut butter she makes.
